Virtual Consulting Methodology
DC3 Solutions leverages a proven methodology to solve enterprise
problems. Our Virtual Consulting Methodology (VCM) is designed to mitigate
risk and ensures success on enterprise initiatives. Combined with our
innovative software development capability and our expert engineering,
DC3 Solutions’ VCM enables us to address complex application delivery
and virtualization solutions to an array of clients.
VCM is a comprehensive integration approach that considers
business and technical drivers along with relationships and interdependencies
of all virtual infrastructure technologies (i.e. servers, storage, network,
applications, and desktops) and processes (i.e. provisioning, high
availability, performance management, patch management, security, backup/recovery,
and disaster recovery) that deliver the next generation Datacenter 3.0.
Discover
Any initiative or project, information technology related or not, has
a starting point and ending point. For DC3 Professional Services, the
starting point is the Discover Phase. During this phase, DC3 consultants
understand business and technical requirements, business drivers, and
the strategic value of initiatives.
A review and analysis of the current infrastructure including technologies,
skills, processes, applications, and capacities are collected. The information
gathered shapes and guides the initiative and related projects. Common
tasks that are executed during the Assessment phase include; Project Kick-Off,
Requirements Gathering, Business Impact Analysis, User &
Application Analysis, Scope Definition, Infrastructure & Data Analysis,
Proof of Concepts, Total Cost of Ownership Analysis, and Health Checks.
Design
This phase involves architecting enterprise-ready virtual infrastructure
blueprints that address business and technical needs based on requirements
determined within the Discover phase. Based on the requirements, technical
interdependencies are identified, processes are transformed, technologies
are selected, configurations are developed, and skill requirements and
training plans are determined. In addition, this phase includes the creation
of a detailed implementation plan with the key objective being to align
business demand to IT strategy.
This involves choosing an optimal configuration to transform the current
infrastructure platform into a highly flexible delivery center while ensuring
the utmost quality, availability, recoverability, manageability, security,
and scalability possible.
This phase also compares the existing state with an "ideal"
state, and includes migration plans, financial analysis, and risk assessment
to provide recommendations for enhancements
and approach.
Deliver
Proper planning is only useful if the appropriate and knowledgeable steps
of action are taken to realize the solution. DC3 Professional Services
assists with delivering the solution to your organization. Delivery Services
include implementation services, technical assistance, solution delivery,
knowledge transfer and skills training, initial support, final project
transition, and detailed documentation. Delivery includes both pilot implementation
and production ready environments.
Manage
The final phase within the VCM is the Manage Phase. Once the virtual infrastructure
solutions are fully delivered, organizations may need and want assistance
with ongoing maintenance, support, business continuity. and disaster recovery
efforts. Whether its continued maintenance, upgrades, enhancement, or
custom disaster recovery integration, DC3 Solutions is fully capable of
assisting clients in on-going management needs.
